Recap: Neligh-Oakdale vs. Lutheran-Northeast

On Thursday, Lutheran-Northeast put the finishing touches on their 6th blowout victory of the season. They put the hurt on Neligh-Oakdale with a sharp 50-26 win. The matchup was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Lutheran-Northeast had established a 44-20 advantage.

Senior Jayden Arehart and sophomore Brock Kester were two go-getters for Neligh-Oakdale despite the loss. The former rushed for 101 yards and 1 touchdown, while the latter picked up 53 yards on the ground and threw 2 TDs. Arehart has been a consistent playmaker for Neligh-Oakdale as this was the 3rd good game in a row from him. Additional support came from defensive powerhouse senior Austin Rice, who racked up 12 tackles.

The victory was the 5th in a row for Lutheran-Northeast raised their record to 7-1. The loss dropped Neligh-Oakdale back to even at 4-4. Both of these squads appear to be finished for the season, as they have no upcoming games scheduled.
