Basketball Game Preview: Olympian Eagles vs. Lincoln Hornets

The Olympian Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the Lincoln Hornets at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Olympian's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last six games.

On Monday, Olympian earned a 72-63 victory over Monte Vista. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Monarchs recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Olympian's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Tristan Anderson, who dropped a triple-double with 15 points, 13 rebounds, and 11 assists, and Xaiver King, who dropped a double-double with 18 points and 11 boards. The dominant performance also gave King a new career-high in steals (three). Another player making a difference was Mathew Huertas, who went 5-for-11 on his way to 16 points.

They weren't the only ones working in the assist department: Olympian was working as a unit and finished the game with 24 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Lincoln came up short against Canyon Hills on Friday and fell 46-38.

Lincoln now has a losing record of 9-10. As for Olympian, their record is now 15-4.

Olympian came up short against Lincoln when the teams last played back in December of 2017, falling 84-78. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
