Baseball Recap: Warren County Comes Up Short

Thursday just wasn't the day for Warren County's offense. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Moore County Raiders on Thursday. The Pioneers & Lady Pioneers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Raiders earlier this season, when they won 12-1.

Evan Snapp spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on five hits and racked up six Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

Warren County has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 11 of their last 13 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-15 record this season. As for Moore County, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 11-15-1.

While Warren County had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
