Holy Savior Menard is a perfect 3-0 against Jena since March of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Eagles will look to defend their home field against the Giants at 6:00 p.m. Neither Holy Savior Menard nor Jena posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Holy Savior Menard's offense. They lost 6-0 to Sacred Heart on Wednesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Eagles have suffered since February 23, 2024.

Meanwhile, Jena fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Buckeye on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 2-1. The Giants' defeat signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

Collin Jensen spent all 7.1 innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on six hits and racked up eight Ks.

On the hitting side, Jena saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brayden Oakes, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one double.

Holy Savior Menard's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-10. As for Jena, their defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 20-8.

Holy Savior Menard came out on top in a nail-biter against Jena in their previous matchup back in February of 2022, sneaking past 5-4. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Giants turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
