Soccer Game Preview: Greenbrier vs. Springfield

Greenbrier hasn't had much luck against Springfield recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Bobcats will face off against the Yellow Jackets at 4:30 p.m. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Greenbrier fell victim to White House and their airtight defense on Thursday. They came up short against the Blue Devils, falling 8-0. While losing is never fun, Greenbrier can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee soccer rankings (they are ranked 211th, while White House are ranked 70th).

Meanwhile, Springfield also failed to score in their most recent game. They lost 8-0 to Liberty Creek on Monday. Springfield haven't had much luck with Liberty Creek recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Springfield's defeat dropped their record down to 5-7-1. As for Greenbrier, their loss dropped their record down to 5-7.

Greenbrier suffered a grim 6-1 defeat to Springfield in their previous matchup back in September. Can the Bobcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
