Baseball Recap: Washingtonville Wins Going Away Against Goshen Central

Washingtonville's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They blew past the Goshen Central Gladiators 12-4. The result was nothing new for the Wizards, who have now won three contests by eight runs or more so far this season.

Brennan Tesseyman and Bryce Tesseyman were major factors no matter where they played. On the mound, Tesseyman pitched five innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. Meanwhile, Bryce tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Washingtonville is 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 2-3 otherwise. At the plate, Tesseyman went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double, while Bryce got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Andrew Dempsey, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. Ben O'Keefe also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Washingtonville kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

The victory got Washingtonville back to even at 4-4. As for Goshen Central, their defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 4-2.
