Recap: Shafter Generals vs. Arvin Bears
It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Shafter Generals ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They managed a 75-70 victory over Arvin. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Shafter's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aidan Cardenas, who scored 18 points along with 7 assists and 3 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Shaun Maldonado, who scored 25 points.
When it comes to explaining why Arvin lost, one person who can't be blamed is Allen Stone. Despite the final result, he scored 22 points. Xzavier Pierson-Brooks was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Shafter now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Arvin, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4.
Shafter is on the road again on Wednesday and play against Bakersfield at 3:30 p.m. on December 6th. As for Arvin, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Riverdale Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
