The Wilson Wildcats will face off against the Muir Mustangs at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Muir will be up against a hot Wilson squad: the team just extended their winning streak to four. Wilson blew past Whitney 14-4 on Thursday. While Wilson didn't have the best season last year (they finished 3-19), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Christopher Barrientos was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.
In other batting news, Jesus Castorena was incredible, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. That triple was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Alex Han, who scored a run while going 3-for-4.
Meanwhile, Muir had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They were the clear victor by a 13-3 margin over the Jaguars. That's two games straight that the Mustangs have won by exactly ten runs.
Like Wilson, Muir also got a great game from a two-way player: Conrad Hunziker. He struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). What's more, Hunziker gave up only zero walks, the fewest he's had since back in February of 2024. He was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. Those three runs gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kahlil Rishwain, who scored three runs and stole Three bases. while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March of 2024. Eduardo Sosa was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Muir always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .531. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in four consecutive games.
Muir pushed their record up to 8-3 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Wilson, their victory bumped their record up to 4-1.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Saturday as neither team is afraid to steal. Wilson has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Muir struggles in that department as they've been averaging 2.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Wilson might still be hurting after the 10-0 defeat they got from Muir when the teams last played back in February of 2024. Will Wilson have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
