Football Recap: Dynamic Duo of Tian Wyche and Knox Annis Lead Mandarin to Victory

Mandarin's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. Everything went their way against the First Coast Buccaneers as they made off with a 34-13 victory. The result was nothing new for the Mustangs, who have now won four contests by 21 points or more so far this season.

A big part of Mandarin's win came down to the chemistry between Knox Annis and his top target Tian Wyche. Annis threw for 234 yards and four touchdowns while completing 72.7% of his passes while Wyche picked up 117 receiving yards and three scores. Those four passing touchdowns gave Annis a new career-high.

Mandarin pushed their record up to 5-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. The road wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 8.0 points on average over those games. As for First Coast, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2.

Coming up, Mandarin will venture away from home to square off against Rockledge at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for First Coast, they will face off against Sandalwood at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The Buccaneers will be up against the Saints' rather soft defense (which has allowed 42.83 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
