Baseball Game Preview: Avon Eagles vs. Midview Middies

For the second straight game, Avon will face off against Midview. The Eagles will be playing at home against the Middies at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Someone's luck will take a turn for the better: Avon has lost three straight at home , while Midview has lost four on the road.

On Monday, Avon was able to grind out a solid victory over Midview, taking the game 7-4. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Middies recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Luke Holtzman tossed a big game, tossing five innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits.

At the plate, Jason Gillespie was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since April 1st. Nathan Peters was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

Avon always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .513. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Midview's loss dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Avon, their victory bumped their record up to 5-7.
