Softball Recap: Sioux Valley Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Victory

Sioux Valley entered their tilt with Sisseton on Tuesday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They were the clear victors by a 19-1 margin over the Redmen. The result was nothing new for the Cossacks, who have now won five matches by seven runs or more so far this season.

Abby Axtell made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.

In other batting news, McKinley Schwab was incredible, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Kassidy Smith, who got on base in two of her three plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Sioux Valley's victory bumped their record up to 8-6. As for Sisseton, they are on a 12-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sioux Valley will host Castlewood at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Sisseton, they will face off against Arlington at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
