Softball Recap: Hanks Comes Up Short

Hanks lost against Del Valle two weeks ago, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Knights fell just short of the Conquistadores by a score of 8-7. The Knights have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Madison Young stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one double. Emily Cordova was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Hanks' loss dropped their record down to 15-12-1. As for Del Valle, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 21-10-2 record this season.

Coincidentally, Hanks and Del Valle will both be playing El Dorado the next time they take the field. The Knights will host the Aztecs at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Conquistadores will head out to face them at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
