Baseball Recap: John Glenn Knights vs. Bayport-Blue Point Phantoms
John Glenn had lost 13 straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped their record down to 2-12 to make it 14. They lost 16-0 to the Bayport-Blue Point Phantoms. Unfortunately, that's the fourth time they've come up short against the Phantoms this season, with their most recent defeat being a 9-1 loss on Thursday.
As for Bayport-Blue Point, the win keeps they at an undefeated 14-0. The result was nothing new for the Phantoms, who have now won ten matches by eight runs or more so far this season.
For Bayport-Blue Point's part, they got a massive performance out of Brady Gelling, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Those two runs gave Gelling a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Guytano Kiesel, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.
We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. John Glenn is set to square off against their familiar foe Southampton at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
