John Paul II is 3-0 against Incarnate Word Academy since January of 2023 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The John Paul II Guardians will take on the Incarnate Word Academy Angels at 7:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

The Guardians are headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They enjoyed a cozy 75-59 victory over the Centurions on Friday. With that win, the Guardians brought their scoring average up to 51.5 points per game.

Dj Miller continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 40 points and ten assists. That makes it seven consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of the Guardians' points. Another player making a difference was Bryson Krug, who posted eight points in addition to six boards and three blocks.

The Guardians smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Incarnate Word Academy was able to grind out a solid victory over The Christian School at Castle Hills on Friday, taking the game 59-51.

Incarnate Word Academy's win bumped their record up to 14-12. As for the Guardians, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-9.

Everything came up roses for John Paul II against Incarnate Word Academy in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, as the squad secured a 58-22 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for John Paul II since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
