Baseball Recap: Monday's Win Is Mandarin's Fourth in Last Five Outings

Mandarin won the last time they faced Wolfson and things went their way on Monday too. Mandarin came out on top against Wolfson by a score of 4-1.

Mandarin got a great performance from Zach Bouchard as he tossed six innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Mandarin is 4-2 when Bouchard allowstwo or fewer earned runs, but 7-8 otherwise.

At the plate, Mandarin's win was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Hunter Simpson, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and two RBI. Those two RBI gave Simpson a new career-high.

Mandarin is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-10 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.8 runs over those games. This is the second loss in a row for Wolfson and nudges their season record down to 8-12.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mandarin will welcome Paxon School For Advanced Studies at 6:30 p.m. on April 8. As for Wolfson, they will look to defend their home field on April 9 against St. Augustine at 6:30 p.m.
