Baseball Recap: Forest Find Success

Forest won the last time they faced Crystal River and things went their way on Thursday too. The Forest Wildcats came out on top against the Crystal River Pirates by a score of 7-4.

Noah Schoncheck was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he also racked up one hit, the fewest he's had since back in March of 2024. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 3-for-3. Those 2.1 innings gave him a new career-high.

In other pitching news, Samuel Baderschneider looked comfortable as he pitched 3.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits.

Back at the plate, Michael Dominguez and Robert Kohler did most of the damage at the plate: Dominguez scored two runs and stole one base while going 2-for-4, while Kohler scored two runs and stole one base while going 2-for-5.

The win got Forest back to even at 1-1. As for Crystal River, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 1-1.

Forest will be taking part in a tournament against Lake Minneola at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Crystal River, they will head out to face off against Central at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
