Baseball Recap: Countryside Christian Takes a Loss

Countryside Christian suffered their biggest defeat since April 29, 2024 on Tuesday. They lost 14-3 to the Saint Francis Catholic Wolves. If the Minutemen were looking for revenge after losing 10-0 to the Wolves when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Clay Dees was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2. He also launched a home run, marking his first of the season.

This is the second loss in a row for Countryside Christian and nudges their season record down to 9-3. As for Saint Francis Catholic, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Countryside Christian will square off against Riverside Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Riverside Christian has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.91 runs per game on average), something Countryside Christian will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Saint Francis Catholic, they will take on Wildwood at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Saint Francis Catholic is facing Wildwood at the right time seeing as Wildwood is stuck on a six-game losing streak.
