Basketball Recap: Maranacook Comes Up Short

Maranacook suffered their biggest defeat since January 22, 2024 on Wednesday. They took a blow against the Winthrop Ramblers, falling 59-21. The game marked the Black Bears' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Maranacook is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-5. As for Winthrop, they pushed their record up to 11-3 with the win, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Maranacook will take on Boothbay at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Maranacook is facing Boothbay at the right time seeing as Boothbay is stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Winthrop, they will challenge Madison at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Madison will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Winthrop surely won't give up without a fight.
