Football Recap: Caleb Pinkney's Menacing Defense Leads River Bluff over Brookland-Cayce

River Bluff and Brookland-Cayce pushed the score to 41-21 the last time they played Brookland-Cayce, but on Friday defenses reigned supreme. The Gators never let the Bearcats get on the board and left with a 23-0 win. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Gators also won the last time the pair played back in August of 2024.

Hayden Myers was nothing short of spectacular: he rushed for 130 yards and one touchdown.

River Bluff didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Caleb Pinkney, Jyree Grady, and Caleb Renwrick picked up one apiece. River Bluff got some further help from Josiah Robinson: he picked up a sack and made eight total tackles (2.5 for loss).

The victory got River Bluff back to even at 1-1.

Coming up, River Bluff will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Nation Ford at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Brookland-Cayce, they will head out to take on White Knoll at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
