Basketball Recap: Calvary Academy Takes a Loss

Calvary Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the Tom Bean Tomcats, falling 63-40. The Lions were probably out for revenge after losing 48-43 to them when the teams met back in December of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Tom Bean found their leader in freshman Jacob Lind, who went 6 for 11 on his way to 14 points, to go along with seven boards and five assists. Those 14 points set a new season-high mark for Lind. The team also got some help courtesy of Chase Stratton, who posted 12 points, to go along with six boards and three steals.

Calvary Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Tom Bean, their win bumped their record up to 5-1.

Calvary Academy will challenge First Baptist at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Tom Bean, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 45-42 victory against Bridgeport on the 6th.
