Softball Recap: Bishop Montgomery Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Bishop Montgomery, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the St. Anthony Saints an 11-0 shutout on Tuesday. That's more bragging rights for the Knights, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Brooke Patterson and Macey Kim made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Patterson pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Kim tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. At bat, Patterson went 1-for-2 with one triple and one RBI, while Kim scored a run while going 3-for-3.

In other batting news, Abigail Green was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in RBI. Another player making a difference was Emily Laralin, who scored three runs while going 1-for-2.

Bishop Montgomery's victory was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 1-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bishop Montgomery will host Chadwick at 2:45 p.m. on Friday. As for St. Anthony, they will be playing at home against Woodrow Wilson at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. St. Anthony is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak dating back to last season.
