Football Recap: JJ Perry and Kadain Claflin-Coy Secure Win for Weaver

There's no place like home for Weaver, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. They walked away with a 30-23 win over the Haddam-Killingworth Cougars on Friday. For the Beavers, this counts as revenge for the 56-6 victory the Cougars walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2024.

Weaver was led to victory by Kadain Claflin-Coy and JJ Perry. Claflin-Coy rushed for 68 yards and one score on only five carries, while Perry rushed for 90 yards and one touchdown. Jaiden Booth was in the mix too, providing the Beavers with one TD.

The win got Weaver back to even at 1-1. As for Haddam-Killingworth, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Weaver will square off against rival Coginchaug Regional/East Hampton/Hale Ray at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Haddam-Killingworth is set to face off against their familiar foe North Branford at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
