Coconino has won six straight games at home, while Flagstaff has won six straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Monday. The Panthers will welcome the Eagles at 4:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
On Thursday, Coconino got the win against Bradshaw Mountain by a conclusive 17-1. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Bears recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.
Kaitlyn Tso was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 23 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March of 2024.

In other batting news, Danica Kern was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with six stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Those six stolen bases gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Hailey Householder, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI.
Coconino was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .615. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .370 or higher in six consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Flagstaff owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Friday. Everything went their way against Verrado as they made off with a 7-0 victory.
The team relied heavily on Ryleigh Alex, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Sophia Garcia, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double and one RBI.
Flagstaff is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 games. That's provided a massive bump to their 15-6-1 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.9 runs on average over those games. As for Coconino, their victory bumped their record up to 21-4.
Monday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Coconino hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .405. However, it's not like Flagstaff struggles in that department as they've averaged .367. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Coconino was able to grind out a solid win over Flagstaff in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, winning 3-0. Do the Panthers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
