Softball Game Preview: Show Low Cougars vs. Alchesay Falcons

Show Low is a perfect 5-0 against Alchesay since April of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Cougars will venture away from home to face off against the Falcons at 6:00 p.m. Show Low is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11.4 runs per game this season.

Show Low gave up the first runs on Thursday, but they didn't let that get them down. They were the clear victors by an 18-2 margin over Blue Ridge. The high-scoring effort was just what the Cougars needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.

Rylee Wyatt made a splash while hitting and pitching. She tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs.

In other batting news, Show Low got a massive performance out of Addisyn Clark, who went 3-for-4 with five RBI and two runs. Tatum Townsend was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Show Low hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least four batters in three consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Alchesay was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 13-7 to Miami.

Show Low has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.3 runs over those games. As for Alchesay, their loss dropped their record down to 6-15.

Everything went Show Low's way against Alchesay in their previous matchup last Tuesday, as Show Low made off with a 20-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cougars since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
