Volleyball Recap: Santa Fe's Undefeated Season over After Seven Games

Santa Fe lost against Steinbrenner back in September of 2020, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Raiders fell 2-0 to the Warriors. The loss put an end to the Raiders' undefeated start to the season.

Their offense was headlined by Delaney Wingenbach and Ajah Graddy, who picked up six kills apiece. They got some help from Ella Schneider and her eight assists.

Steinbrenner's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Emily Civitillo, who had 25 assists and five digs. Civitillo is crushing it when it comes to assists: she's posted at least 21 every time she's taken the court this season. Lexi Tschopp was another key player, getting 11 digs and two assists.

Santa Fe's defeat dropped their record down to 6-1. As for Steinbrenner, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-1.

Santa Fe didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 win against Doral Academy on the 30th. As for Steinbrenner, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Archbishop McCarthy on the 30th.
