Taylor Mitchell was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Mitchell was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with four RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Massena got a massive performance out of Michael Herrick, who went 4-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Nathan Barcomb was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.

Massena always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .684. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Franklin Academy only posted an OBP of .158.

Meanwhile, Ogdensburg Free Academy hadn't done well against Franklin Academy recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Blue Devils blew past the Huskies 13-4. The Blue Devils' win was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.

The victory got Massena back to even at 1-1. As for Ogdensburg Free Academy, their record now sits at 4-0.

Massena couldn't quite finish off Ogdensburg Free Academy in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 and fell 8-6. Can the Raiders avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
