Basketball Recap: Boone County Takes a Loss

Boone County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They were dealt an 80-31 defeat at the hands of the Simon Kenton Pioneers. The Rebels were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-12.

Jay Bilton was his usual excellent self, going 9-for-11 on his way to 22 points and three steals for Simon Kenton. Bilton is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last 15 games he's played. Grayson Harris was another key player, going 5-for-7 en route to 15 points.

Boone County's loss dropped their record down to 4-20. As for Simon Kenton, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 19-6 record this season.

Looking ahead, Boone County will host Dayton at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Simon Kenton, they have already played their next game, a 69-32 win against Scott on the 14th.
