Basketball Recap: Argo Comes Up Short

Argo saw some tournament action on Saturday. They fell just short of the MCC Crescents by a score of 61-59. The Argonauts have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Zayd Ibrahim was his usual excellent self, going 10-for-17 to rack up 23 points and seven rebounds for MCC. What's more, Ibrahim also posted a 60% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's achieved since back in December of 2024. Khalid Khan was another key player, shooting 42% from the field on his way to 17 points.

Argo's loss dropped their record down to 4-8. As for MCC, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season.

Argo will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Hillcrest at 6:30 p.m. on January 9, 2026. As for MCC, they will be taking part in a tournament against Niles West at 11:30 a.m. on Monday.
