Baseball Recap: Lincoln Drops Season-High Score on West

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lincoln). They were the clear victors by a 15-3 margin over the West Wolfpack on Wednesday. Considering the Trojans have won seven matchups by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Joey Victor made a splash no matter where he played. He tossed 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He is becoming a predictor of Lincoln's success: when he allows at most one hit the team is undefeated (and 6-8 when he doesn't). Victor was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (three).

In other batting news, Bradley Thurman-Swanson was incredible, scoring two runs while going 3-for-3. That's the most runs he has posted over his last 11 games.

Lincoln was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .486. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as West only posted a batting average of .150.

Lincoln is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-8 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. As for West, they dropped their record down to 4-13-1 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home.

Lincoln will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Wolfpack: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
