Recap: Wonderful College Prep Academy Wolves vs. Kings Christian Crusaders
The Wonderful College Prep Academy Wolves suffered their biggest defeat since December 7, 2023 on Tuesday. They were dealt a 65-34 loss at the hands of Kings Christian. Wonderful College Prep Academy was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-14.
Despite the loss, Wonderful College Prep Academy saw an underclassman step up: Jose Morales-Martinez scored 15 points. That's the first time this season that Morales-Martinez scored 15 or more points.
It was another big night for Ronnie Roche, who scored 31 points along with seven steals for Kings Christian. That makes it three consecutive games in which Roche has scored at least a third of Kings Christian's points. Another player making a difference was Elyas Miro, who scored 12 points along with seven assists and five rebounds.
Wonderful College Prep Academy bumped their record down to 2-14 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 21.0 points per game. As for Kings Christian, the win (which was their 19th in a row) raised their record to 19-1.
Wonderful College Prep Academy will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Summit Charter Collegiate Academy at 7:00 p.m. As for Kings Christian, they will head out on the road to challenge Caruthers at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
