Softball Recap: McGregor Mercuries vs. Ogilvie Lions
McGregor extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 21 on Monday, dropping them down to 0-14. They came up short against the Ogilvie Lions, falling 20-3. That's two games in a row now that the Mercuries have lost by exactly 17 runs.
McGregor saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bella Sorensen, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI. Audrey Cook also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-5 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.
In other batting news, Ogilvie got a massive performance out of Josie Bitz, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with four stolen bases and four runs. Those four stolen bases gave Bitz a new career-high. Kadence Pierce was another key player, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double.
McGregor has already played their next game, a 5-2 win against Cook County on the 5th. As for Ogilvie, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 10-7 defeat against Hinckley-Finlayson on the 5th.
