Breckenridge won against Merrill on Monday with 17 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. The Huskies beat the Montabella Mustangs by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 17-6. Considering the Huskies have won ten games by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Adyson Collins made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She pitched six innings while giving up just one earned (and five unearned) runs off seven hits. Collins was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with four runs. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April.
In other batting news, Brooklynn Long was incredible, going 2-for-4 with four RBI, two doubles, and one run. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Lily St. John was another key player, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Breckenridge was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .457. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .405 or higher in four consecutive matchups.
Breckenridge has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-14 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.8 runs over those games. As for Montabella, they dropped their record down to 2-18 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight at home.
