Baseball Recap: Madison-Ridgeland Academy Extends Winning Streak to Three

Madison-Ridgeland Academy got themselves on the board against Hartfield Academy on Tuesday, but Hartfield Academy never followed suit. They walked away with a 5-0 victory over the Hawks. That's two games straight that the Patriots have won by exactly five runs.

Wilkes Johnson looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Alex Lambert, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Holt Adams, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

The win (which was Madison-Ridgeland Academy's third in a row) raised their record to 16-11. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.7 runs over those games. As for Hartfield Academy, their loss ended an eight-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 22-3.

Madison-Ridgeland Academy will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Hawks: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
