Game recap: Arapahoe High School Football Team tops Horizon

THORNTON, Colo. - Arapahoe (Centennial, Colo.) had its advantage, which at one point stood at 10 points, drop to three before the final whistle blew on a 17-14 victory over Horizon (Thornton, Colo.).

After taking the lead on a Jose Cancanon touchdown run in the second quarter, the Warriors led 17-7 at the half.

With the win Arapahoe extended its winning streak to six games. AHS defeated the Eagles 42-7 last week.

The Centennial school's standout player in the win was Cancanon. The junior running back ran for one touchdown. He has now scored 11 touchdowns on the season.

Greg Gonzales played well for the Hawks. The junior tight end caught one touchdown. His performance brought his touchdown total to four on the year.



The Warriors came into the game allowing 16.7 points per game. The 14 points that Horizon ended with were well below its average of 30.2 coming into the game.

The loss comes after Horizon defeated Rangeview 47-24 last week. The loss snapped HHS's 2-game winning streak.
