Basketball Recap: Lucas Takes a Loss

Lucas was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were outmatched by the Colonel Crawford Eagles and fell 71-39. The Cubs were not able to make up for their defeat to the Eagles from their previous meeting back in January.

Hayden Maloney and Zac Winters certainly did their best on Saturday to avoid the loss. Maloney went 5 for 6 on his way to 11 points and five rebounds, while Winters posted 13 points and five rebounds.

Lucas' loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Colonel Crawford, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-1.

Lucas didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 70-43 defeat against Buckeye Central on the 23rd. As for Colonel Crawford, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 62-47 victory against Seneca East on the 27th.
