Basketball Game Preview: Staunton River Golden Eagles vs. Franklin County Eagles

Staunton River hasn't had much luck against Franklin County recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The two teams will face off at 7:00 p.m. without much rest having both just played. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Tuesday, Staunton River was beaten by Northside 81-25. The match marked the Golden Eagles' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, Franklin County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They fell 52-41 to William Byrd.

This is the second loss in a row for Staunton River and nudges their season record down to 6-6. As for Franklin County, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-9.

Staunton River was taken down by Franklin County 73-41 when the teams last played back in January of 2024. Can Staunton River avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
