Basketball Recap: Michigan School for the Deaf Comes Up Short

Michigan School for the Deaf was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They took a blow against the Wisconsin School for the Deaf Firebirds, falling 45-8. While losing is never fun, the Tartars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 659th in Michigan, while the Firebirds are ranked 283rd in Wisconsin).

Michigan School for the Deaf's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Wisconsin School for the Deaf, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season.

Michigan School for the Deaf will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Davis Aerospace Tech at 6:00 p.m. on February 6th. Wisconsin School for the Deaf has already played their next match, a 54-25 win against Minnesota State Academy for the Deaf on the 25th.
