Baseball Recap: Vernon Hills Takes a Loss

Vernon Hills lost against Highland Park on Monday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Cougars took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Giants. The Cougars just can't catch a break and have now endured four losses in a row.

Connor Brockway was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Another player making a difference was Trevor Todd, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases.

Vernon Hills' defeat dropped their record down to 8-17. As for Highland Park, their win was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 20-4-1.

Coming up, Highland Park will challenge Mundelein at 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Vernon Hills will be paying especially close attention to the Giants' matchup: after the Giants face off against the Mustangs, they'll take on Vernon Hills again at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday.
