Rising Sun extended their winning streak to four on Wednesday, bumping their season record up to 5-3 in the process. Everything went their way against the Switzerland County Pacers as they made off with a 7-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Shiners, who have now won three games by six runs or more so far this season.
Emily Oatman made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. That RBI was her first of the season.

In other pitching news, Elaina Titkemeyer tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out 13 over six innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in May of 2024.
Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Ryan Works, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run and two stolen bases. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Tamryn Miller, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.
Rising Sun hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least four batters in three consecutive contests.
As for Switzerland County, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. They have struggled against Rising Sun recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost meeting.
On Switzerland County's side, they saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Serenity Beard, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
