Baseball Preview: Westosha Central Falcons vs. Wilmot Panthers

Westosha Central stacked a sixth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. Everything went their way against St. Joseph as Westosha Central made off with a 15-5 win. Westosha Central's hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Charlie Dietz was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Jake Urban, who scored three runs while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Wilmot's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell just short of Antioch by a score of 5-4.

Wilmot also got a good showing from Owen Poepping, who tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits (he also only allowed one walk). Poepping has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive pitching appearances.

At the plate, James Walkanoff was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with three RBI and a double. Another player making a difference was Trenten Zeivel, who scored two runs while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

Westosha Central pushed their record up to 7-0 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Wilmot, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3.
