Basketball Recap: Lewisburg Takes a Loss

Lewisburg was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They lost to the Southaven Chargers at home by a 68-51 margin. The Patriots were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Chargers earlier this season, when they won 52-48.

Southaven's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cael Jones, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 13 rebounds. With that strong performance, Jones is now averaging an impressive 15.2 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Caden Johnson, who went 6 of 12 on his way to 19 points and seven rebounds.

Lewisburg's loss dropped their record down to 9-11. As for Southaven, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-7.

Lewisburg will head out to challenge Oxford at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Southaven, they will venture away from home to face off against Hernando at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Southaven's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three games.
