Basketball Game Preview: Los Gatos Wildcats vs. Mountain View Spartans

The Los Gatos Wildcats will take on the Mountain View Spartans at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Los Gatos is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They breezed by Wilcox to the tune of 77-38 on Friday. With the Wildcats ahead 49-15 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

Los Gatos got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Ethan Oppenheimer out in front who went 6 for 11 en route to 12 points and eight rebounds. Anthony Martin was another key player, going 5 of 8 on his way to 10 points and five boards.

Los Gatos was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Mountain View was just a bucket shy of victory on Wednesday and fell 64-63 to Wilcox. While the Spartans didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Chargers 20-12 in the first quarter.

Mountain View has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-8 record this season. As for Los Gatos, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-3.
