Baseball Game Preview: Cahokia Comanches vs. Valmeyer Pirates

The Cahokia Comanches will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against the Valmeyer Pirates at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Cahokia is headed into their home opener looking to turn things around after starting their season on the road. They came up short against Metro-East Lutheran on Saturday, falling 22-3. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it seven in a row.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Valmeyer). Everything went their way against East Alton-Wood River on Monday as Valmeyer made off with a 12-6 victory. The Pirates haven't had any issues with the Oilers recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.

Ethan Roy was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 1-for-2. Luke Blackwell was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-5.
