Recap: Arvin Bears vs. Del Oro Sun
There's no place like home for the Arvin Bears, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Tuesday. They had just enough and edged Del Oro out 60-58. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Arvin can attribute much of their success to Allen Stone, who scored 21 points. Xzavier Pierson-Brooks was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Del Oro's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Josue Lopez-Perez, who scored 17 points. Another player making a difference was Gabriel Bocardo, who scored 12 points.
Arvin's victory bumped their record up to 10-14. As for Del Oro, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-20.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Arvin will take on Golden Valley at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Del Oro, they will head out on the road to face off against Foothill at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Foothill is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.
