Volleyball Game Preview: Casteel Colts vs. Basha Bears

The Casteel Colts are taking a road trip to square off against the Basha Bears at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Casteel will be strutting in after a win while Basha will be coming in after a defeat.

Casteel is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Arizona's top teams: Millennium, who was ranked 22nd at the time (Casteel was ranked sixth). The Colts walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Tigers on Thursday. The Colts haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Casteel got the W, but it wasn't easy, at least in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 37-39, 27-25, 25-22.

Casteel found their leader in sophomore Will Schneiderman, who had 27 digs and five assists. Schneiderman is on a roll when it comes to digs, as he's now had ten or more in each of the last 11 games he's played.

Meanwhile, Basha was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They came up short against Chandler, falling 3-0.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-11, 25-15.

Basha's defeat dropped their record down to 12-17. As for Casteel, they pushed their record up to 25-11-1 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

Everything went Casteel's way against Basha in their previous matchup two weeks ago, as Casteel made off with a 3-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Colts since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
