Basketball Game Preview: Macksville Mustangs vs. Cunningham Wildcats

Macksville has won seven straight games at home (dating back to last season), while Cunningham has won seven straight on the road also dating back to last season, but those streaks won't matter much on Monday. The Macksville Mustangs will host the Cunningham Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. Macksville is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 65.3 points per game this season.

Macksville saw some tournament action on Saturday. They managed a 48-42 win over Central Plains. The 48-point effort marked the Mustangs' lowest-scoring matchup of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Diego Esparza continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 7 of 16 on his way to 21 points in addition to five boards and three steals. The game was his 21st in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Carlos Ibarra, who posted six points and six rebounds.

Meanwhile, Cunningham made easy work of Attica on Monday and carried off an 82-56 victory. The Wildcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 contests by 26 points or more this season.

Macksville's win bumped their record up to 11-2. As for Cunningham, their victory bumped their record up to 13-0.

Macksville strolled past Cunningham in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 by a score of 65-47. Does Macksville have another victory up their sleeve, or will Cunningham turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
