Basketball Game Preview: Twin Valley South Panthers vs. Middletown Christian Eagles

The Twin Valley South Panthers will wrap up 2024 with a road trip to face off against the Middletown Christian Eagles at 3:00 p.m. on Friday.

It was a proper cat-fight when Twin Valley South faced off against Ansonia on Saturday. Twin Valley South fell to Ansonia 45-39. The game marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Despite the defeat, Twin Valley South got top-tier performance from Brylii Day, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 15 boards. That's the most rebounds Day has posted since back in December of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Maci Arndts, who posted five points and eight rebounds.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Middletown Christian). They blew past Dayton Christian, posting a 63-10 win. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded the Eagles with their most commanding win of the season.

Middletown Christian pushed their record up to 3-1 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 27.4 points per game. As for Twin Valley South, their loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 5-3.

Twin Valley South was taken down by Middletown Christian 64-30 when the teams last played back in January of 2023. Can Twin Valley South avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
