Softball Recap: Poly Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Poly can now relate to. They lost 15-1 to the Chesapeake Cougars on Monday. The Engineers were red-hot at the plate heading into the game (they scored no less than ten runs in the six contests prior), but the Cougars' pitchers proved too tough.

The loss snapped Poly's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 19-4 record. As for Chesapeake, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 16-6.

Poly does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Chesapeake, they will challenge Northeast on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Cougars 4.1, the Eagles 2.2) so any runs scored will be well earned.
