Malone narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Vernon 3-1. The victory was just what Malone needed coming off of a 14-2 loss in their prior matchup.

Hoke Harkrider made a splash while hitting and pitching. He pitched six innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits (he also only allowed one walk). Harkrider was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-4.
