Basketball Preview: East Forsyth Eagles vs. Davie War Eagles
Two dominant guards in Mya Booth and Avarie Martin are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The East Forsyth Eagles will square off against the Davie War Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as East Forsyth comes in on three and Davie on eight.
East Forsyth can't be too worried about heading out to take on Davie: they just beat Reagan at home, who had been dominant on their own court up to that point. Everything went East Forsyth's way against Reagan on Tuesday as East Forsyth made off with a 62-38 victory. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matchups by 20 points or more this season.
Booth and Landry Tsujii were among the main playmakers for East Forsyth as the former dropped a double-double with 23 points and ten rebounds and the latter went 7-for-9 en route to 18 points and five boards. That's the most points Tsujii has posted since back in January of 2024. Another player making a difference was Alyssa Jessup, who earned eight points along with six assists and five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Davie beat Parkland 81-70 on Tuesday. Given the War Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 76th, while the Mustangs are ranked 222nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
